Fbi (ver 2) by Shadows This was a very hard song to work out. it doesnt make life any easier with lots of tape echo either and palm muting. I would like to discuss hanks tone, which is a tape echo machine, plugged into a vox ac 30 and with a fender strat guitar. That was the old days of course. These days Hank uses Echoes from the past, it has all is tape echo effects programmed into it minus the wow and flutter effect of old tape machines. programmed but charlie hall, i believe he still programs machines now. The vox ac 30 is avaiable now in stores. there is the custom classic, slightly different compared to the original and the heritage amps which sposed to be the vox golden tone from that age. Fender strats are everywhere these days, just make sure to get one with vintage pickups, hank uses kinman pickups i believe, also important is the tremolo arm or whammy bar, which adds vibrato to notes, bring them to life. Also avaible to get hanks tone is the gemini III, an incredible tone shapper tool to get those earlier shadows sounds. so lets recap, if you really want hank sounds, heres the ideal setup Fender strat - > Echoes from the past - > Vox heritage amps. you could also add compression. but i cant stress how important a good tape echo unit is, to get those hank sounds. You cant beat Echoes from the past in my opinion which is what hank used in his final tour. Right forget about gear, lets learn to play FBI The following was tabbed by ear. please note - that i have not included the exact number times somthing is played. you can work this out yourself by listening to the record. I am trying to show you the correct notes to play. first off, lets look at the first guitar you hear, Bruce's. It also sounds like he plays, double stops.
