Before I Wake Ukulele by I Fight Dragons

Before I Wake by I Fight Dragons
This song is awesome!!!

This song has a very awesome chord structure. It seems the same most of the way
through the song, but the changes in the chorus and the last interlude could throw
you if you're not careful. It doesn't follow general pop music perfectly, but it
sounds awesome regardless.

The need to know to play this song:
-Regular tuning
-Finger picking throughout is important with a lot of emphasis on the bass note of each chord
-If you're singing this then you should also note how some of the verses start after beat one but
you start the chord on beat one.
-When I say "hold" I mean to play the chord and let ring until you go to the next chord
-Listen to the song and play along a few times and you'll get it in the end!

A recommendation:
-I recommend bar chords for the softer more muted texture and fuller bass sound,
but it's up to your taste.

Here's my fingering for the F#m/C# that works well. When you get to the regular
F#m just play it the regular way.

E---2
B---2
G---2
D---4
A---4
E-----(don't play)

Intro:
D G Bm A x2

D A
 Here we are again

                 Bm
Like we've always been

      G A
Since time uncertain

D A
 Who's supposed to start?

           Bm
Where do we begin?

G          A      G ----->
When we've got so far to go

       A (build)---->
And we know

(Chorus)
  D G
Tomorrow everything will change

  Bm G
Today will never seem the same

   D G
So I will try to find a way

   Bm G
To say everything I need to say

    A Bm F#m/C# D Em7
And If I should die before I wake

  D A D
Remember everything we said today

Interlude:
D G Bm G x2

D A
  Everybody says

               Bm
Everything must go

     G A
Well I don't think so

D A
  Something still remains

             Bm
In everyone we know

      G   A        G  ---->
Since far away and long ago

          A----> (build)
And it shows

(Chorus)
  D G
Tomorrow everything will change

  Bm G
Today will never seem the same

   D G
So I will try to find a way

   Bm G
To say everything I need to say

    A Bm F#m/C# D Em7
And If I should die before I wake

  D           A               Bm--->
Remember everything we said today

Interlude: (THIS IS DIFFERENT THAN THE OTHER ONES!!!) :)
Bm A G F#m x3 on last time go to A after F#m

(Chorus)
  D G
Tomorrow everything will change

  Bm G
Today will never seem the same

   D G
So I will try to find a way

   Bm G
To say everything I need to say

    A Bm F#m/C# D Em7
And If I should die before I wake

  D A D
Remember everything we said today

Postlude: (this is like the beginning)
D G Bm G x3 fades out but end on D when you stop. you could go D G Bm G A then go
to D at the end if you want to also.

Hope you enjoyed it!!!
