The part labeled "SS" in this tab means to hit the side of the snare drum, or the rim...but it isn't a rim shot...you kinda just have to hit it with your drum stick normally. "SS" basically takes the place of the hi-hat. The part labeled "S" means to strike the snare drum normally.
