Sunday Morning (ver 3) by Maroon 5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday Morning - Maroon 5 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tabbed by: Blueyedbrownie Email: [email protected] This is probably my favorite song by Maroon 5. It's so much fun to play on the piano, so I decided to transcribe it to guitar. It sounds great, so learn it, play it, and enjoy! I've broken it down in 2 sections: the piano chords transcribed to guitar and the electric guitar riffs. Tuning: Standard _______________ Piano _______________ Chords: Dm9 G13 Cmaj9 Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 G7#5 (Fill) -12- -12- -10- ---- ---- ---- -11- ----- -10- -10- -8-- ---- ---- ---- -12- -8--- -10- -10- -9-- -10- -10- -9-- -10- --9-- -10- -9-- -9-- -10- -9-- -9-- ---- ---10 ---- ---- ---- -x-- -10- -x-- ---- ----- ---- ---- ---- -10- ---- -8-- ---- ----- Intro: Dm9 G13 Cmaj9 (Fill) Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 (Fill) Verse 1: Dm9 G13 Cmaj9 Sunday morning, rain is falling, Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 steal some covers, share some skin. Dm9 G13 Cmaj9 Clouds are shrouding us in moments unforgettable, Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 you twist to fit the mold that I am in. Dm7 G13 Cmaj9 But things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do, Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 and I would gladly hit the road, get up and go if I knew, Dm9 G13 Cmaj9 that someday it would lead me back to you, Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 that someday it would lead me back to you. Chorus: Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 That may be all... I... need, Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 In darkness she is all... I... see. Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 Come and rest your bones... with... me. Dm7 Driving slow on Sunday morning, G7 Cmaj7 and I never want to leave. Verse 2: Dm9 G7#5 Cmaj7 Fingers trace your every outline, oh yeah, yeah, Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 paint a picture with my hands. Dm9 G13 Cmaj9 Back and forth, we sway like branches in a storm, Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 change the weather, still together when it ends. *Interlude* Verse 3: Dm9 G7#5 Cmaj7 But things just get so crazy, living life gets hard to do, Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 Sunday morning, rain is falling, and I'm calling out to you. Dm9 G13 Cmaj9 Singing someday it'll bring me back to you, Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 find a way to bring myself back home to you. Outro: Repeat Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 as many times as you want. _______ Guitar _______ The verse guitar in this song pretty quiet so all you can hear are the high notes, and it helps that it's accentuated by the wah effect. The guitar starts at "Clouds are shrouding us..." and the riff starts at the same time the Dm9 chord for the piano is played and it repeats until the chourus. Play with slight distortion & wah effect |-------------------------|-------------------------| |-------------------------|-------------------------| |---------5------------4--|---------4------------4--| |-3-3-3-3---3--3-3-3-3---3|-2-2-2-2---2--2-2-2-2---2| |-------------------------|-------------------------| |-------------------------|-------------------------| * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * PM PM PM PM *Note-the notes played on the D string are palm-muted. Chorus/Outro: Play as many times as you like. Yeah, that's it! I hope you guys enjoy Maroon 5 just as much as I do! Like I said: learn it, play it, and enjoy! P.S. In my opinion, it sounds great acoustically! So try that out if you get a chance!
